Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile equipment and workstations per OSHA standards
- Provide exceptional patient care during blood draws
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with lab team to ensure timely testing turnaround
- Train on new technologies as implemented
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASPT, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience
- CPR/BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Valid Virginia driver's license (if required for specimen transport)
