Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Monitor patient vital signs and equipment functionality throughout surgeries
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials
- Document all perioperative activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock ORs between procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent OR experience in acute care setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols and infection control standards
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of surgical terminology and anatomy
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
