Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to surgical requirements
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms safely
- Manage sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
- Document all activities and inventory in compliance with hospital policies
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of hospital OR experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
