Responsibilities
- Assess patient calls via phone and digital triage systems to determine medical urgency and prioritize care
- Provide accurate medical advice and care instructions while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care teams to coordinate patient flow
- Document all interactions and triage decisions in electronic health records (EHR)
- Monitor patient conditions and escalate critical cases immediately
- Train new staff on triage protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience in emergency or urgent care
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stress situations
