Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize cases in high-volume emergency department setting
- Collaborate with physicians to develop accurate triage protocols and care plans
- Utilize EHR systems (EPIC) for documentation and patient tracking
- Provide clear communication to patients/families about wait times and treatment processes
- Oversee patient flow and coordinate with ancillary departments
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and emergency department protocols
- Mentor new triage staff and implement quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 3 years ER/trauma experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Expertise in rapid patient assessment and critical decision-making
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in EPIC EHR systems
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- BSN preferred (ADN candidates with 5+ years experience considered)
