Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Accurately prioritize patient acuity and direct appropriate care pathways
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely interventions
- Maintain detailed electronic health records with precise documentation
- Provide clear patient education regarding treatment plans and next steps
- Oversee triage area operations during high-volume periods
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficient in ESI triage methodology
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong communication abilities for high-stress environments
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
