Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using standardized triage protocols (ESI, EMTALA)
- Prioritize patient cases based on acuity and allocate resources efficiently
- Communicate critical updates to physicians, charge nurses, and ancillary staff
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EPIC EMR) with precise documentation
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient flow
- Educate patients/families on emergency procedures and discharge instructions
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Mexico or compact state
- Minimum 2 years ER/trauma or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in triage assessment tools (ESI preferred)
- Exceptional communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
