Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits eligibility
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain detailed patient billing records and documentation
- Communicate payment plans and billing inquiries to patients
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and insurance regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
- 1+ years of medical billing experience
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and billing software
- Knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement rules
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification a plus
