Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions and prioritize care based on urgency and acuity
- Implement triage protocols using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) standards
- Coordinate with physicians and care teams to ensure timely interventions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in Epic EHR system
- Provide education to patients and families regarding care pathways
- Oversee emergency department flow during high-volume periods
- Collaborate with case managers for appropriate patient disposition
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (TX RN)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications
- Proficient in triage assessment methodologies
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Exceptional communication and crisis management skills
- Experience with Epic EHR systems
- Spanish bilingual proficiency required
