Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocol
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize critical cases and allocate resources efficiently
- Document clinical findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide clear communication to patients and families about wait times and care plans
- Oversee patient flow from arrival to treatment assignment
- Assist in disaster response protocols and mass casualty incidents
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Minnesota
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency in ESI triage methodology
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Experience with Epic EHR systems preferred
