Responsibilities
- Perform advanced clinical procedures including coronal polishing, sealant application, and suturing removal
- Assist in complex restorative and surgical procedures with precision and efficiency
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization processes exceeding OSHA standards
- Train and mentor junior dental assistants on clinical protocols and practice procedures
- Oversee inventory management and ordering of dental supplies while maintaining cost efficiency
- Prepare and maintain detailed digital patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software
- Coordinate with front desk to optimize patient flow and appointment scheduling
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Dental Assistant license and radiology certification
- Minimum 5 years of clinical dental assisting experience in a busy practice
- Advanced certification in expanded functions (EFDA preferred)
- Proficiency in digital radiography (CBCT/Panoramic) and intraoral cameras
- Proven leadership experience with staff training and process improvement
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
