Responsibilities
- Dispense and verify medications accurately according to prescription orders and safety protocols
- Lead inventory management, ordering, and controlled substance tracking
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical reviews and medication therapy management
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications
- Utilize pharmacy software (Omnicell, QS1) for dispensing and documentation
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 3 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified Immunization Administration (CPhT-IA) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy inventory systems and compounding equipment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for patient/pharmacist interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Basic IV certification required
