Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications with 100% accuracy using automated systems
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering for optimal stock levels
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Collaborate with pharmacists on sterile compounding and IV admixtures
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and electronic health records documentation
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on protocols
- Coordinate with insurance providers for billing verification
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of DEA regulations and sterile compounding
- Exceptional attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
