Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence protocols
- Maintain sterile compounding areas and ensure compliance with USP 797 standards
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on workflows and best practices
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell) for prescription processing
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician license required
- Prior experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- PTCB or ExCPT certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy technology systems and inventory management
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of HIPAA and pharmacy regulatory compliance
