Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently using automated dispensing systems
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering for optimal stock levels
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Collaborate with pharmacists on complex medication therapy management
- Maintain precise electronic health records and prescription documentation
- Implement quality assurance protocols and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years of hospital or high-volume retail pharmacy experience
- Advanced knowledge of sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong attention to detail and error-prevention skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- CPR certification and HIPAA compliance training
- Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology or related field preferred
