Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Manage inventory control systems and order pharmaceutical supplies
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on protocols
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Collaborate with pharmacists on patient medication counseling
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV preparations
- Implement pharmacy safety standards and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 2 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
