Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with NC Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Lead inventory management systems including controlled substance tracking, order verification, and stock rotation
- Train and mentor junior technicians on dispensing protocols and customer service best practices
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies with third-party payers
- Perform medication compounding and sterile preparations under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and electronic health documentation
- Coordinate with nursing staff on medication administration protocols and patient education
Qualifications
- Active NC Pharmacy Technician license with minimum 2 years of institutional pharmacy experience
- PTCB certification required, with CPhT designation preferred
- Proven expertise in inventory management and controlled substance handling
- Advanced proficiency in pharmacy software systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero tolerance for medication errors
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in team training and workflow optimization
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining composure
- Basic understanding of sterile compounding USP 797 standards
