Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription processing, inventory management, and compliance with state/federal regulations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on medication dispensing protocols and customer service excellence
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure accurate medication dispensing, compounding, and patient counseling
- Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste and optimize stock levels of high-value pharmaceuticals
- Manage third-party insurance billing and resolve complex reimbursement issues
- Utilize advanced pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) for prescription verification and record-keeping
- Lead quality assurance initiatives including medication error prevention and HIPAA compliance audits
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician license with minimum 3 years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification through PTCB or ExCPT
- Proven expertise in medication compounding, sterile preparation, and IV admixture
- Advanced proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in staff training and workflow optimization
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-tolerance medication error record
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining 100% compliance
