Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify orders for patient safety
- Manage inventory control and automated dispensing systems for optimal efficiency
- Mentor junior technicians and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical interventions and patient counseling
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Implement sterile compounding procedures for specialty medications
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician license
- 3+ years of experience in high-volume retail or hospital pharmacy
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required
- Advanced proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Exceptional attention to detail and medication safety awareness
- Strong leadership abilities and training experience
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Experience with sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation
