Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications using automated dispensing systems
- Manage inventory control and maintain compliance with DEA regulations
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Coordinate with insurance providers to resolve coverage issues
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records
- Assist in sterile compounding of IV medications under pharmacist supervision
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong communication skills for patient and provider interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic IV certification preferred
- Spanish language skills a plus
