Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications following state and federal regulations
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Provide exceptional customer service by counseling patients on medication usage and answering inquiries
- Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve medication-related issues and ensure therapeutic efficacy
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain workflow efficiency
- Operate pharmacy software systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell) for prescription processing and inventory management
Qualifications
- Current Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and prescription processing
- Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume environments
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions and team collaboration
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
