Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and automated dispensing systems
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare staff
- Adhere to strict HIPAA and FDA compliance standards
- Assist with sterile compounding of IV medications
- Train new pharmacy technicians on department protocols
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and abbreviations
- Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
