Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, dispense, and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy software systems
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Ensure strict compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and state pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years of retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite
- High school diploma or equivalent; PTCB preferred
