Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify patient information
- Manage prescription processing workflow including inventory control and compounding
- Provide exceptional patient consultations on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA compliance for all patient records and transactions
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy staff
- Coordinate with insurance providers for prescription authorizations
- Implement quality assurance protocols for medication safety
Qualifications
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize critical tasks
