Responsibilities
- Manage prescription processing, verification, and dispensing under pharmacist supervision
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on SOPs and compliance
- Handle inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and third-party billing accurately
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- Operate pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell) and automated dispensing systems
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions
- Ensure sterile compounding meets USP 797 guidelines
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and billing software
- Strong knowledge of DEA regulations and controlled substances
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume setting
- Basic math skills for prescription calculations
