Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and phlebotomy equipment
- Train and mentor new phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Collaborate with lab team to optimize workflow efficiency
- Document patient interactions and test results in EMR systems
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification (current)
- Proven ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
