Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient populations
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques and compliance standards
- Process and analyze specimens using CLIA-certified laboratory equipment
- Implement and maintain strict HIPAA and OSHA safety protocols
- Coordinate with physicians and lab teams to ensure accurate specimen handling
- Conduct quality control audits and troubleshoot technical issues
- Document procedures using our proprietary digital health records system
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) with 3+ years of clinical experience
- BLS/CPR certification and current California phlebotomy license
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-access vein collections
- Familiarity with LIS systems and laboratory information management
- Exceptional patient communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume ambulatory settings
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives
