Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques and compliance protocols
- Manage inventory of collection supplies and equipment ordering
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Process specimens accurately and maintain electronic health records
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certification as Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in hospital or clinical lab setting
- Current Alaska phlebotomy license
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Exceptional communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environment
