Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for complex surgical procedures including orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular cases
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies with precision
- Monitor sterile technique compliance and enforce infection control protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia, nursing, and supply teams for seamless perioperative workflows
- Train and mentor junior surgical technologists on advanced techniques
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment maintenance for optimal efficiency
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 5+ years of OR experience
- Specialty certification in at least one surgical subspecialty (e.g., CNOR, CSS)
- Proven expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical instrumentation
- Exceptional communication and crisis management abilities
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
