Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies for complex surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, retracting tissues, and maintaining sterile fields
- Perform comprehensive instrument and sponge counts before/during/after surgeries
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care transitions
- Train and mentor junior surgical technicians on best practices
- Maintain inventory and sterilization protocols for all surgical equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with current BLS certification
- Minimum 5 years of scrub experience in Level I trauma center
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular procedures
- Proven leadership experience in surgical team coordination
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
