Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment for complex procedures including orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular surgeries
- Assist surgeons during procedures with precise instrument passing and hemostasis techniques
- Maintain strict aseptic protocols and sterilization standards per OSHA and AORN guidelines
- Manage inventory and ordering of surgical supplies while optimizing cost efficiency
- Train junior surgical techs on advanced instrumentation and emergency protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless perioperative workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 3+ years of OR experience
- Current BLS certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques and robotic-assisted procedures
- Proven track record in complex orthopedic and neurosurgical specialties
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Epic EMR systems
