Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with clinical procedures
- Perform vital signs measurements and basic diagnostic tests (EKG, phlebotomy)
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and ensure accurate documentation
- Schedule appointments and handle patient registration/check-out processes
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment
- Assist with patient education regarding treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Active Texas Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask efficiently
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings
