Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including EKGs, injections, and wound care
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring accurate documentation
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care
- Perform laboratory tests including phlebotomy and specimen processing
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Pennsylvania state medical assistant license
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings
