Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist providers with clinical procedures and diagnostic testing
- Administer injections, medications, and wound care under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and inventory management
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure HIPAA compliance in all communications
- Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in outpatient or urgent care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Athenahealth preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA
- Strong phlebotomy and ECG skills
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
- Associate's degree or Medical Assistant certificate required
