Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Accurately document patient histories, vitals, and clinical information in EHR systems
- Perform clinical tasks including phlebotomy, EKGs, and wound care
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with specialty departments
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication protocols
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a fast-paced medical setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience with EMR software)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment
- Texas state medical assistant license or eligibility
