Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and administer medications as directed
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and maintain examination rooms
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and ensure accurate documentation
- Schedule appointments and handle patient correspondence professionally
- Perform basic lab tests and specimen processing
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
