Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for laboratory testing
- Coordinate patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently
- Administer medications under provider supervision
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Current CPR/BLS certification and Pennsylvania MA license
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build patient rapport
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
