Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and administer medications as directed
- Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, phlebotomy, and lab specimen collection
- Maintain accurate patient records using our EMR system (Epic experience preferred)
- Sterilize equipment and ensure exam rooms are stocked and compliant with OSHA standards
- Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with healthcare team members
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient or hospital setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification and Texas medical assistant registration
- Proficiency in venipuncture, EKG, and basic laboratory procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
