Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and administer medications per physician protocols
- Assist providers during clinical procedures and maintain accurate patient records in EHR systems
- Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care lab procedures
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are sanitized and stocked
- Coordinate patient scheduling, insurance verification, and billing documentation
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification and phlebotomy skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Valid District of Columbia medical assistant license
- Ability to multitask and prioritize critical patient needs
