Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during diagnostic procedures and minor treatments
- Administer injections, medications, and perform EKGs and phlebotomy
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Sterilize equipment and ensure exam rooms are stocked and compliant
- Coordinate patient education and follow-up care instructions
- Manage front desk duties including scheduling and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Phlebotomy and EKG certification required
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure situations
- Spanish fluency a significant plus for our diverse patient population
