Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing with precision and care
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient education on treatment plans and preventive care protocols
- Administer immunizations and medications per provider orders
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and sterilization equipment
- Collaborate with nursing and administrative teams for seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in outpatient setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification and current North Carolina state credentials
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
- Associate's degree in Medical Assisting or related field
