Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures including EKGs, phlebotomy, and wound care
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and process billing documentation
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Accredited Medical Assistant program certification (CMA or RMA preferred)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in outpatient or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience highly valued)
- Current BLS/CPR certification and active District of Columbia MA license
- Exceptional patient communication skills and cultural competency
- Ability to multitask efficiently in high-volume environments
- Strong attention to detail in documentation and inventory management
- Spanish fluency preferred for diverse patient population
