Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Administer injections, medications, and perform EKGs under physician supervision
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification
- Perform vital sign checks, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory procedures
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Active MA certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/Meditech preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical assisting graduate preferred
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
