Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake screenings, including accurate recording of vitals, weight, and height measurements.
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations and minor procedures.
- Assist with basic EKG procedures and provide patient education on medication and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including entering lab results and administrative documentation into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized according to strict hygiene protocols.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician’s office or outpatient setting preferred.
- Proficient in computer systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
