Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Measure vital signs, collect specimens, and prepare patients for examinations
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and maintain accurate documentation
- Schedule appointments, arrange referrals, and handle patient communications
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and ready for patient care
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Current CPR certification and BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Tennessee Medical Assistant certification or eligibility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
