In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a welcoming environment while assisting our providers in delivering top-tier clinical care.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update patient records in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and maintain strict sterilization protocols.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient exams, including taking vitals and recording medical histories.
- Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic laboratory specimen processing.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage prescription refills, and assist with insurance authorizations.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and hospital infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to obtain Georgia State Medical Assistant license prior to start date.
- Strong computer proficiency with experience in EMR/EHR software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
