Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic and insurance information, and escort them to examination rooms.
- Clinical Duties: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate), and prepare patients for procedures.
- Lab & Testing: Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and EKGs, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems, including documenting patient visits and outcomes.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock examination rooms with medical supplies, instruments, and equipment to ensure readiness.
- Administrative Support: Schedule patient appointments, send appointment reminders, and handle patient billing inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software; strong computer literacy.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
