Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify insurance, and escort them to exam rooms to ensure a seamless intake experience.
- Assistance: Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with minor procedures and tests.
- Vitals & Admin: Accurately measure and record vital signs, update electronic health records (EHR), and manage appointment scheduling.
- Phlebotomy: Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for lab analysis as required.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the medical team, answering questions and providing education.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or currently certified (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or eligible for certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Athenahealth) and phlebotomy.
- Interpersonal: Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced team setting.
- Availability: Flexibility to work full-time hours, including some weekends or evenings if required.
