Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals measurement, and medical history documentation with precision.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures, administer injections, and perform basic phlebotomy when certified.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, including updating patient charts and processing prescriptions.
- Coordinate patient schedules, manage front desk operations, and handle insurance verification.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized clinical environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, answering questions and addressing concerns professionally.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited institution.
- Current Illinois state Medical Assistant license (or eligible to obtain one).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
