Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital signs and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and minor surgeries
- Perform diagnostic tests, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen processing
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Schedule appointments, handle patient communications, and process insurance claims
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and sterile equipment
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification and Colorado medical assistant registration
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build patient trust
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Experience with patient scheduling and insurance verification processes
